Machan's
- The split between Christopher Machan and his wife but may be explained by the events of his step daughter dying in an accident at the ironworks (dynamite explosion) the attack and imprisonment under the influence of drink but recovering from a spell in hospital.
- Where did the family originate from. Known as settled in Huntingdon/Haxby just outside York but this may be as a direct result of invitation for tenant farmers but where did they come from. Concentration of Machan's near Wakefield but is that a connection?
Usher's
- Francis Usher had 3 brothers but each seem to have disappeared, emigrated or died but no records have been found, some assumptions made.
- What happened to William Usher (1826) after his wife Mary Jane (nee Kinnersley) died.
- The family moved in to the Manor House at the top of Boulby Bank in late 1899 or 1900 but it seems to be a big step up from one of the terrace houses on Boulby Bank.
- William Usher (Loftus) is beleived to have worked for Lord Dundas based on articles but did he come from the Usher's in Great Ayton, North Cave or somewhere else. A daughter Tamar may have a connection to Devon?
- On the Hawksfield branch of the family was William's father Christopher and a logger or based on the newspaper article it implies a Ships Master and from Leeds?
Tibbot's
- Joseph Tibbot married Laura Louisa Rowden in 1894 in Frodsham, they then had children Richard Joseph, Lilian, Bertie and then Daisy. Daisy was born in 1900 and Joseph was not recorded in the 1901 census and by 1902 Laura Louisa had a child Charles Harrogate by Joseph Harrogate. We know by a later census and marriage records Joseph Tibbot was still alive but we will probably never know why they separated and was it before Laura Louisa fell pregnant to Joseph Harrogate.
Jackson's
- When did John Roscoe Jackson die?
- Where did the Robertsons originate from in Scotland?
- Is there a connection between the Duncan's and the Duncan family from Dundee (admiral Duncan and of the battle of Camperdown fame). Known not a son of, or direct descendant).
